Private support is the driving force that enables Brookhaven Academy to move forward. The impact of private giving can be seen in nearly every facet of the school. Each individual gift carries with it the power to set progress in motion. It's been the BA way since we opened our doors. Cougar BLUE never leaves you!
If you are inclined to give to BA for the first time, or if you're continuing a legacy of giving, you can make a tax-deductible donation by stopping by the school at any time and visiting the business office. We do not have an online giving platform at this time.
Brookhaven Academy Educational Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit corporation which operates at Brookhaven Academy, has been established as a 501 (c)(3), tax-exempt organization. Therefore, EVERY gift to BAEF is tax-deductible.
Ways to Give: Your tax-deductible gift can be made in several ways. By credit or debit card in the business office, or if you prefer, make your check payable to BAEF and mail to 943 Brookway Blvd Ext; Brookhaven, MS 39601. Gifts to BAEF may be doubled or even tripled through matching gift programs. Many companies match contributions made by employees. Check with your employer to find out if you are eligible. You may also pledge a gift amount by calling the development office.
As an independent school, Brookhaven Academy operates without financial support from the federal, state or local government and it is governed by its own Board of Trustees. Unlike public schools, which are funded by tax dollars, independent schools rely solely upon tuition, fees and proceeds from fundraising to meet operating expenses and improve the overall student educational experience.
Dollars raised by fundraising efforts are crucial to bridge the gap between tuition income and operating expenses. The heart of the operating budget includes teachers' salaries, educational materials and facilities maintenance. Fundraising keeps tuition down and ensures that a Brookhaven Academy education is accessible to a diverse population.

How do you decide?
Contributions may be unrestricted, or you may specify that your gift go to support specific areas such as academic programs, faculty support, or athletics. BAEF keeps a list of projects small and large for prospective donors to view. For example, alumni from one class may decide to purchase a plaque on the columns of the new fence surrounding the front of the school or go in together to purchase a microscope for the science lab.
